PUBLIC NOTICE! As From Today, Friday 27th April 2012, Paul's Promotions are NO longer involved with the organisation & running of any of the events at the SEDGEMOOR AUCTION CENTRE, North Petherton & HIGHBRIDGE CATTLE MARKET.
This includes both the Saturday Market/Car Boot and the Sunday Car Boot Sale. We hold no information on any of these events mentioned. Please call the venues direct for further information, we apologise to our valued customers for any inconvenience caused by this decision.
Pauls Promotions has been organising traditional community car boot sales in Taunton and surrounding areas since 1998.
Our first Car Boot Sale opened way back in November 1998, this event was known as 'Paul's Indoor Boot Sale' and was held weekly at the Taunton YMCA; we use to run these car boot sales during the months when the weather was wet and cold. During the summer months of 1999 we opened across the road at the Taunton Town Football Club using their car parks for car boot sales, these events were always successful.
We sadly lost the contract at Taunton Town Football Club in 2001 when a rival car boot organiser took over. However, us losing out to this this contract opened up to bigger and better opportunities, with Taunton's Biggest Car Boot being established, the venue being Prockters Farm. We still operate from this venue today and have a great working relationship with Mark and Jackie Besley. The Prockters Farm Car Boot Sale attracts over 400 sellers and 1000's of bargain hunters on a dry sunny Sunday and now has planning permission to operate on Sundays and Public Holidays from beginning of February until the end of November.
In 2007 our Saturday Afternoon Car Boot sale was established at the BASC Ground in Burnham On Sea, this car boot sale is very popular with the holiday makers as the venue is right on the main holiday route and has been known to attract over 200 stalls during the children's holidays.
During 2008 our Friday evening Car boot Sale was established at The Taunton Academy (St Augustines site), this car boot is still operated today and is very popular as is situated on a big housing estate.
During 2009 we launched a brand new Car Boot at Cricket St Thomas Wildlife Park, this venue was held once month, but was often cancelled due to the good old British weather!, sadly this event was not continued.
Late in the summer of 2010 we were asked to start a new Sunday Afternoon Car Boot Sale at West Bagbourgh, but sadly this Car Boot Closed after two months due to lack of support.
2011 brings lots of excitement with our brand new all weather venue at Junction 24, (Sedgemoor Auction Centre) opening in September. Saturday's will be a Farmers & General Market with no second-hand goods allowed. Sunday's will be a Giant Undercover Afternoon Car Boot with room for up to 400 sellers!
2012 is nearly here and we are pleased to announce that an agreement has been reached between ourselves and Taunton Town FC. We will be holding Car Boot Sales again after a 11 year break at Taunton Town Football Club, these Sales will be held on a Saturday Morning, so please support these events as half the profits generated will go towards the club house rebuild. Two other brand new venues will be opening in Spring 2012, final preparations are being discussed, one of these venues being on a Friday Evening and the other being on a Sunday, so please check out this page for more information.
